Sun City Aliante Overview
Sun City Aliante is a master-planned Del Webb community built on 1,000 acres in North Las Vegas. It consists of 2,028 homes built between 2003 and 2008. Sitting at the foot of the Sheep Mountain Range, it enjoys great views and has many amenities. In addition to its own golf course, the nearby Aliante Station Casino and Hotel has dining and entertainment options. It has good transport links, with the 215 beltway next to the entrance, and it is a 15-20 minute drive to the Strip. The area is 2,200 ft above sea level, and in addition to the Sheep Mountains has views out to Mt. Charleston.
The broader Aliante area has a good infrastructure with a library, commercial buildings, a fire station, and subdivisions that are not age restricted. 100 acres of Aliante was allocated to commercial development so there are plenty of places to eat and shop. The Aliante Station Casino and Hotel has six restaurants, a movie theater and 202 guest rooms. This $662 million development was completed in 2008, and having it on the doorstep is one of Sun City Aliante’s biggest draws.
The clubhouse and conference rooms have views over the golf course and across to the Sheep Mountains. It houses an indoor swimming pool, spa and fitness center. Exercise, dance, yoga, cardio and aqua-fit classes are held regularly. There are a series of purposes built rooms allocated to arts and crafts, such as ceramics and jewelry making. For those that prefer games there is billiards, table tennis, and plenty of card tables.
Outside there are tennis and bocce ball courts, and horseshoe pits. Many of the homes have frontage onto the 6,900, 72-par golf course in the community. It is a public golf course and is not overly challenging, making it ideal for new and intermediate players. Aliante has 465 acres dedicated to parks, biking trails, walkways, lakes and waterfalls, including a 20 acre discovery park. Much of this is outside Sun City Aliante, but it is in the nearby community. The Red Rock Canyon Conservation Area is munites away and 50 miles north is the Valley of Fire State Park.
Chartered clubs at Aliante are extensive, and include: afternoon games, Aliante steppers, American mahjong, art workshop, beading and jewelry making, book club, bowling, bunco, ceramics, computer club, Chicago scoring bridge, contract bridge, eight ballers, forget-me-knots, glass crafters, hand and foot, havarah, horseshoes, kaluki, ladies golf, mahjong, Mexican train dominoes, pan, paper crafting, pickleball, pinochle, poker, seniors assisting seniors, seniors with warm hearts, silver needle and threads, softball, solos, songsters, tennis and veterans club. In addition to this there are many trips organized to museums, casinos and shows.
Homes in Sun City Aliante
The homes were built in seven different floor plans ranging from 1,555 sq ft to 2,100 sq ft. Whilst some large models have a den or third bedroom the majority are two bed, two bath, and a two car garage. The homes are well designed with open kitchens, great rooms and covered patios.
Sun City Aliante has been warmly received and in February 2007 the “Where to Retire Magazine” rated it the third best place to retire out of 100 communities.
